For years now, I have been suspicious about claims of being rocketed along effortlessly at incredible velocity by miraculous and relatively new split fins. A couple weeks ago I took a pair for a test ride in the pool compliments of one of my Rescue Diver students.
In the pool, my impressions were that they are truly effortless to kick, but that they don’t produce the same amount of thrust as my conventional (Apollo Prestige) fins. They were fine, but I don’t think they’re for me.
Anyway, I stumbled across the above article that seems to shed a little scientific light on the reality vs. the hype.
