Shopping on JoeScuba?

For decades, joescuba.com has been just a blog. I try to write about matter quite a bit to divers. As I look back, I have also posted a fair amount of crap. In spite of that, I have always made a genuine effort to be a helpful resource for divers. Now, after all these years, I have realized one thing…

I have a LOT of dive gear

I am a very active diver and a somewhat active instructor. Add to that, I am a gear hound and I dive all the major modalities—rebreather, sidemount, doubles, technical and recreational. And, since much of my work involves underwater photography and underwater videography, I need a mountain of underwater equipment to support all that.

I update diving equipment more often than the average diver, so it accumulates. For several months, I have been thinking about how to get my no longer needed diving and underwater camera gear into the hands of people that will use and appreciate it.

Used dive gear for sale

If you click on Shop above, that’s the start. You’ll find mainly two areas. The first is dive gear for sale. It is all used—mostly by me. Some of the gear will be quite new. Most often, this is stuff that didn’t quite work for me. Some is, let’s say, “well loved.” Everything has been impeccably maintained.

I’ll try to give the history of all the dive gear in the description, so you know what you are getting. Everything ships for a flat $5, unless it is heavy or oversized. In that case, I’ll add a little more, usually $10.  Honestly, I can’t ship anything for $5, but I’d rather keep it simple and share the cost, than have to spend a lot of time weighing and measuring things.

If you see anything you like, or have questions, drop me a note.

The other area is merchandise featuring some of my favorite underwater photographs. These are all original original photos, taken by me at dive destinations worldwide.

You’ll find t-shirts, coffee mugs, beach towels, mouse pads and growing list of other stuff that I think is cool. One day, I hope to be at some remote dive destination and run into someone I have never met that’s wearing one of my shirts.

The future of JoeScuba

I have some things planned that will be very cool. One of these is unique learning and travel opportunities. This is very much NOT the kind of experience offered by dive shops and typical dive travel operators. I’ll be getting more into that soon.

Also, I have been designing gear that I’ll be able to release soon.  For now, I’m keeping quiet about the details, but I’ll spill the beans as soon as I can.

Finally, now that I have a bona fide e-commerce platform, I’ll likely start selling new dive equipment as well. Primarily, I’ll be looking for dive gear that fills a specific need and isn’t widely available. We’ll see where it leads. In the mean time, please consider buying one of my t-shirts, and send me a picture of you wearing it somewhere awesome!
