Description
This is a pair of OMS trim pockets. These are from before DUI took over ownership of OMS. I don’t think they make this exact weight pocket anymore. I like these because they have a stainless steel d-ring.
These wight pockets were my personal gear. I used them on a harness very briefly (maybe 20-25 freshwater dives) before I replaced them with the ditch-able Dive Rite weight pockets.
If you look close at the pictures, you’ll see that I punched a hole in the webbing. I used book screws to hold them in place. It was cleaner than using belt slides. The Dive Rite pockets have a belt slide sewn in, which I like a lot.
OMS Trim / Weight Pockets
These pockets are bigger than the Dive Rite pockets. I have these pockets on a couple of my harnesses that I use to stow a pocket mask when I am teaching, or a backup mask if I’m wearing a drysuit without thigh pockets.
Aside from the book screw holes, these trim pockets show very little wear. I just have dozens of trim pocket laying around and hope someone can use these. I think these OMS weight pockets are more rugged than other trim pockets that are available.
I’ve seen these pockets listed as 5lb capacity as well, so keep that in mind. They used to be expensive–I think almost $40 per pocket when they still offered them.
