Dive Rite Aluminum Backplate

This is a Dive Rite aluminum backplate. It’s an early one with the old logo sticker. I can’t tell if it has clear anodizing, but I assume it must. There is some minor corrosion around the tank/STA mounting holes. It has two different width slots for your crotch strap to accommodate whatever size webbing you prefer.

I didn’t measure, but I think this is slightly thicker aluminum than the new backplates. I’m sure it makes no difference at all as far as durability. The edges are more square than the new plates also. That may make webbing fray faster, but I find that that happens no matter what.
