Perfectly sized for divers with shorter torsos, the Dive Rite Stainless Steel Short Backplate delivers the same rugged performance as the standard plate—just in a more compact form. At 13.5 inches long, it’s 1.5 inches shorter than the full-size version, making it an excellent choice for women, youth divers, or anyone who needs a more tailored fit for better comfort and control.
This short backplate keeps all the same standout features: laser-cut stainless steel, CNC deburred edges, and an electropolished finish that resists corrosion and eliminates snag points. Just like the standard plate, it includes cam band slots for single-tank diving without the need for an adapter, and bungee holes for sidemount stage bottle rigging.
To save space, the 1-inch crotch strap slot has been removed, and there is one central bolt hole instead of two. Despite these minor tweaks, it remains 100% compatible with the Dive Rite Single Tank Adapter (STA), as well as all Dive Rite wings and harness systems.
